Communicating European Research 2005

On 14-15 November, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research hosted the second “Communicating European Research” conference. Based on the experiences from the 2004 edition, the event focused on the manifold aspects of science communication and provided a forum and meeting place for scientists, communication professionals and journalists.

Around 2100 participants - including project coordinators, journalists and communication professionals, press officers and representatives from research organisations - met to promote mutual understanding of their respective roles, to share best practice and to define strategies to improve communication, outreach and dissemination of research results to the public and the press at a European level.

Exhibit on EU research in organic food and farming

In parallel with the conference, a major exhibition with 244 exhibits covering 9000 m2 showcased selected research initiatives as well as communication strategies of research organisations, media associations etc.

One of the exhibits focused on European research in organic food and farming. The exhibit was organised by QualityLowInputFood in cooperation with other EU founded research projects and the objective was to present the potentials that research in organic food and farming represent in regard to the development of agriculture and food production, rural development and environmental protection in the enlarged Europe.

Posters and brochures

For each of the projects participating in the exhibit, we had prepared a poster and leaflet informing about the project. The leaflets can be downloaded (PDF) from the following gallery:
