4th QLIF congress
The fourth annual scientific congress of the QLIF project took place at the occassion of the 16th IFOAM Organic World Congress (OWC) 18-20 June 2008 in Modena, Italy.
The QLIF congress offered a series of five high-level workshops presenting major findings from the research project, and actively involved the participants in discussions and reflections.
In addition, several papers from QLIF were integrated in the 2nd scientifc ISOFAR conference also held at the IFOAM OWC.
All papers presented at the QLIF and ISOFAR congress will be uploaded to Organic Eprints.
3rd QLIF congress
The third annual scientific congress of the QLIF project "Improving Sustainability in Organic and Low Input Food Production Systems" was exellently hosted on March 20 to 23, 2007 at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart.
The congress was organized in parallel with the 9th Scientific Conference on Organic Agriculture in the German speaking countries, entitled "Between tradition and globalisation". In total more than 600 participants joined the organic conferences in Hohenheim.
All papers presented at the QLIF congress have been uploaded to Organic Eprints.
2nd QLIF congress
The second QLIF congress/Joint Organic Congress was conducted in Denmark in late May 2006. The congress was held in cooperation with other EU projects, and more than 1.000 participants from 45 different countries took part in the event.
The congress homepage is still active; among others you will find photos from the event.
All papers submitted to the Joint Organic Congress were uploaded to the open access archive Organic Eprints. Furthermore, many of the speakers have provided access to their presentation.
1st QLIF congress
The international congress on Organic Farming, Food Quality and Human Health was held January 6 - 9 · 2005 at Newcastle, UK. The congress was a great success and it attracted more than 600 participants from all over Europe. Contributions from the QLIF project given at the congress are highlighted in the QLIF newsletter from April 2005
5th QLIF training / exchange workshop
At January 21.-23. 2009 the 5th QLIF training workshop was organised in Driebergen, The Netherlands. Product quality and how to achieve it was be the central theme, with scientific specialists on this theme sharing their knowledge and experience with junior scientists and students.
4th QLIF training / exchange workshop
Soil Nitrogen: Research and Extension
The fourth QLIF training and exchange workshop addressed various aspects of nitrogen dynamics of organic and low input farming.
During the workshop leading researchers presented their research, focussing on the research approach and techniques used to come further in the understanding of the complex nitrogen dynamics of organic and low input farming.
The workshop was held 13-15 February 2008, Driebergen, the Netherlands.
3rd QLIF training / exchange workshop
Measuring food quality: concepts, methods and challenges
The third QLIF training and exchange workshop addressed various aspects of food quality.
A concept of good quality, how different quality aspects can be measured, but also the gaps in our knowledge and the challenges that we face in achieving a guaranteed high quality of organic food produce were discussed.
The workshop was held 12-14 February 2007, Driebergen, the Netherlands.
2nd QLIF training / exchange workshop
Towards animal oriented methods of rearing animals in organic production systems
The aim of a two-days workshop for junior researchers was "to transfer both theoretical background knowledge and practical skills in using new approaches".
The workshop was held 20-22 February 2006 in Driebergen, NL.
1st QLIF training / exchange workshop
Healthy Soil, Healthy Crops, Healthy People
The first QLIF training workshop was held 2 - 4 February 2005 in the Netherlands. The aim of the two-days workshop was to transfer both theoretical background knowledge and practical skills in the use of new techniques and experimental approaches within soil quality.
